The heavy snow bent many young trees over the trails. Trail crew Stu, Greg and Bob finally got the Mackinac Cut Wild Turkey and Trapper’s Cabin trails cleared and groomed by 1pm. The rest of the day Greg and Stu worked on clearing the Rolling Hills trail.

Many skiers chose to ski the rest of the trails through the overhanging snow laden trees. They have skied in nice tracks and been very helpful as tree shaking volunteers!

The really good news this morning is that groomer Rodney finally had his road plowed so he was able to get to work! He started grooming at 7am.

His first mission is to regroom, snowcomb and reset tracks if needed on the Mackinac Cut, Wild Turkey and Trapper’s Cabin trails. His second mission will be to team up with trail cutters Stu and Scotty to finish clearing the Rolling Hills Trail.

By 10am the Rolling Hills, Wild Turkey, Mackinac Cut and Trapper’s Cabin trails will be groomed and have beautiful snowcombed skating lanes and deep tracks set.
