Cross Country Headquarters Ski Team Wins the Michigan Cup for 3rd Time

The Cross Country Ski Headquarters Team has won the Michigan Cup for the second year in a row and the third time ever. The team excelled at both individual points and in the two team competitions, the Team Time Trial and the Michigan Cup Relays.

Second place was Hanson Hills/Cross Country Ski Shop,  keeping third place Team NordicSkiRacer.com at bay. The competition between the 4th and 5th place finishers, Straits Striders and Grand Rapids Nordic Ski Team was fierce, with only a few points separating the teams.

Team Captain Frank Rynalski attributes this 3rd Michigan Cup Championship  not only to the teams great recruiting efforts but also to the teams younger skiers. In overall individual standings the team had first place in Junior Men Class A  with Ross Williams and Junior Women Class B with Kaitlyn Patterson.

In the final race of the season, The Michigan Cup Relays,  Cross Country Ski Headquarters Team had 22 teams entered and won 8 podium spots. Team NordicSkiRacer.com was second in podium places with 6 out of 7 teams. In third was Hanson Hills/Cross Country Ski Shop with 5 podiums spots out of its 8 teams.

 A new competition within the Michigan Cup designed to reward the team with the strongest high level competitors started this past season. Team NordicSkiRacer.com edged Hanson Hills/Cross Country Ski Shop in the 2008 Brumbaugh Cup. Said Mike Muha, captain for Team NordicSkiRacer, "We were elated that we could win the inaugural Brumbaugh Cup.
