2016 Fischer Speedmax Classic Race Skis / 2016 Fischer RCS Carbonlite Classic Boot Package:
— 2016 Fischer Speedmax Classic Plus ski. Weight: 1030 grams for 197cm. World Cup side cut 41-44-44. Sizes 192cm, 197cm, 202cm, and 207cm, Plus Stiffs and Plus Medium flexes available (we will select the appropriate ski flex and length based on your body weight, height and experience level, and we will mark the wax pocket for you as well. If you have size/flex preferences, let us know in the comments section at checkout, or call 800-832-2663). The Speedmax Classic Plus is Fischer’s fastest classic race ski, and arguably the fastest on the market. What makes this ski so revolutionary is Fischer’s Cold Base Bonding used in the manufacturing process. Traditionally, when bases are applied to skis, high heat and pressure are used in the process, which mutates the base structure, allowing only a certain level of structural integrity and wax absorption to remain in the base. With Cold Base Bonding, however, the heat and pressure are eliminated, allowing the base to retain its original molecular structure. The results of this process are unprecedented gliding properties, wax absorption, grindability, and overall speed.
Another big benefit of Fischer’s Cold Base Bonding technique is its effect on ski consistency. Because of the heat and pressure used in traditional base bonding, the characteristics of the ski body and base react differently to different snow temperatures, resulting in sometimes inconsistent ski behavior. Cold Base Bonding fixes that problem, too; by adding a thermal absorption layer between the ski base and ski body, Speedmax skis react with consistency and predictability on the snow, regardless of snow temps. Surely one of the fastest classic skis on the market, the Speedmax’s also come equipped with the universal DTG World Cup Plus base, Air Core HM Carbon, Carbon Pro Tip and Tail for optimum swing behavior, Computer Flex Control for precise ski matching, and Classic 9Q construction for racing.
