-- 2011 Alpina Discovery 68-60-65mm Sizes 160 cm (skier weight 80 lbs to 129 lbs), 170 cm (120 to 155 lbs), 180cm (150 to 185lbs), 190cm (180 to 230lbs). Use on and off trail (40-60). A backcountry ski that is not too wide for on the trail, yet wide enough for great flotation on and off trail. The Posi Grip base climbs like a mountain goat. With sufficient side cut along with an ice stabilizing full steel edge the Discovery gives great platform like security besides letting you turn easily. Mid length sizing makes them super easy to control and the bulletproof wood core cap construction means these skis will last a very long time. Feed back is very positive. This softer flexing Back Country boot has a plastic heel counter, internal speed lacing and toe box protection. It feels very comfortable and with thinsulate insulation, is very warm. It does not however offer as much upper support as the stiffer backcountry boots.
