Cross Country Ski Report – Sunday, March 10th

About 1 inch of heavy, wet snow fell overnight. Groomers Mike and Butch have been out since before dawn grooming and clearing sticks from the high winds. The Michigan Cup Relays will occupy the Rolling Hills and Trappers Cabin trails from approximately 11am to 12:30am. Skiers can still use ALL trails EXCEPT the Rolling Hills trail, which will be off-limits until the race ends at approximately 1pm. All trails have fresh tracks set and the skate lanes have been Ginzu snow combed. Ski conditions will be excellent today!

Michigan Cup Relays – Sunday, March 10th: Join us for one of the most exciting and entertaining ski races in Michigan! This grand finale race for the Michigan Cup Race Series features a relay race with 3 skiers per team: 2 legs freestyle, one leg classic; approximately 4-6km per leg. You do not have to be a Michigan Cup racer to participate! If you do not have a team but would still like to ski, we will try to find a team for you. Registration starts at 9:30am, and the race starts at 11:00am. The entry Fee is $20 per racer. All entrees score Team Points.

After the Relays, stick around for the awards ceremony on the sun deck, and enjoy a hearty post-race meal of house-made BBQ pork sandwiches, black bean veggie burgers, vanishing scalloped potatoes, cookies, and $2 pints. This post-race meal is included in the race registration fee. Each racer will also receive an official XC Ski HQ pint glass!

Even if you don’t race, you’ll still have a great time on the trails today!
